Good-Bye Best Friend

The time has come for us to part,
With a tear in my eye and a hole in my heart.

You were so great and always so kind,
You were always there on time.

 

And in our days we had each other,
Sometimes I thought you were my sister.

As years went by, you grew so strong
And in my eye you could do no wrong.

You and I, we were the best
I would say the hell with the rest.

And all the times and times we had
I would say, you’re not that bad.

We went through life two as one,
We’d go out and have our fun.

Who would care what others would say,
You and I would plan the day.

You and I we did it all.
We got the brick sand built the wall.

And in the times we were so tight,
I could not see it wasn’t right.

It’s a time for me to look away.
Its time for me to find God’s way.

Good-bye best friend, you’re in my past.
With that, new friends, I think I’ll pass.
